Building on Wi-SUN Alliance momentum at DistribuTECH this year

Despite the disappointment of a delayed DistribuTECH this year, we’re back on course for a great exhibition later this month (May 23-25) in Dallas, Texas.

DTECH is always a real jewel in the crown for us event-wise and we’re looking forward to building on the momentum we have being seeing in recent months, and the growth in both Wi-SUN FAN certified products and membership.

It is going to be busy show with an opportunity for us to showcase our FAN interoperability demo and to display FAN certified products at our stand #2440. We are looking forward to meeting everyone again after a gap of two years.

Wi-SUN Alliance will be speaking at this year’s event on the subject of ‘How Field Area Network Standards Are Enabling End-to-End Smart Metering’ on May 24 (at 1.30-2.00pm) at booth #101 on the Exhibition Floor, and hope our community comes along to support this session. We’re expecting it to be busy.

Phil Beecher will look at why one size does not fit all when it comes to selecting the right communications technology, and how Wi-SUN Alliance and DLMS User Association are collaborating to ensure seamless interoperability of solutions carrying DLMS/COSEM applications over Wi-SUN FAN communications networks. Together we can drive the adoption of a standardized, interoperable ecosystem for smart utilities and smart cities.

We will also draw on our latest IoT study Journey to IoT Maturity launched in March, which highlights the rapid growth in smart metering and distributed automation, as the most recognized IoT applications, along with many new and emerging opportunities, like traffic management, acoustic and environmental sensors, and street lighting.

We will also be taking the opportunity to meet and greet press and other important influencers at the show, as well as record video interviews with our members on their stands or on the Wi-SUN Alliance stand.  If your company is a Wi-SUN Alliance member or user, please let us know if you’re interested in taking part and haven’t yet signed up.
