Message from Phil Beecher, President & CEO

2019 has been a busy year so far for Wi-SUN Alliance. Following the announcement of the Wi-SUN Field Area Network (FAN) certification program at the end of last year we showed the first FAN 1.0 certified products at DistribuTECH in February.  The number of certified products continues to grow and the enthusiasm from utilities and cities is growing too.

There is a lot of hype around different communications technologies for IoT applications, but Wi-SUN FAN delivers wireless mesh with proven coverage, reliability, resilience and flexibility, along with enterprise grade security, providing an ideal communications network technology for large scale, critical infrastructure deployments.

At our Spring Member Meeting in Atlanta, kindly hosted by Landis+Gyr, we recognized individuals and companies for their leadership, innovation and commitment to delivering the Wi-SUN FAN certification program. Our thanks and congratulations goes to all of our award recipients. For more information on the FAN Awards and recipients please click here.

We will be holding an Open House on Wi-SUN FAN on August 29 in Seoul Korea. For more information and to register please click here.

On a final note, please mark your calendars for the next Wi-SUN Alliance All Member Meeting, to be held on October 23-24, 2019 in Taipei, Taiwan. The meeting is open to all Wi-SUN members. For more information please click here.

More highlights and updates can be found below.

Regards,
Phil Beecher, President and CEO
