If the utility sector is to be adequately protected, then businesses need to adopt a multi-layered approach. Every level of a network – from the customer’s grid edge to the Field Area Network (FAN), substation, and data centre – must implement the latest security measures to form a strong line of defence against potential attacks. Any solutions used must ensure the principal security building blocks of prevention, detection and correction if they are to be successful.
